KOSY, in collaboration with Adorno Arquitectos, has been shortlisted as one of the top two teams in the design competition for the Marine, Business, Research and Innovation Center (MBRIC) in Ceiba, Puerto Rico.
The project is planned for the Roosevelt Roads redevelopment area, a coastal site with a strong relationship to the water, climate, and the wider blue economy. The brief calls for a new hub that brings marine research, business development, and public-facing programs together, creating a place where innovation, education, and community can sit side by side.
Next, we will travel to Puerto Rico and present the proposal in person together with the Adorno team. We are genuinely excited, not only about the project, but about the chance to spend time on the ground, meet the people behind the brief, and test our ideas against the real conditions of place, weather, and culture.
Competition brief and details are available on ArchDaily.
