MUSEUM RESERVOIR

Logging museum and wetland centre shaped as a public landscape walk.

Drøbak, Norway · Museum / Wetland centre · Competition Entry · 2021 · 6,000 m²

Details

Museum Reservoir is a concept proposal for the Akershus Logging Museum and Wetland Centre in Drøbak, Norway. Located by the Øyeren freshwater wetlands and reservoir, the project connects exhibitions, education, restaurant, offices, and nature park functions through a public walking route shaped by landscape, water, and timber-floating history.

Rather than treating the museum as a standalone object, the proposal extends the wetland path through the building and across outdoor activity zones. Sculptural museum bowls hold flexible exhibitions and administration, while roof gardens, interior gardens, workshops, and restaurant spaces connect visitors to the surrounding landscape throughout the year.
